Shift4 and RICS Software Announce Joint EMV Solution for Retailers
EMV Solution Is Available Today With Eight Processors in the U.S. and Canada
LAS VEGAS and INDIANAPOLIS — Oct. 26, 2016 — (PRWeb) —
Payment gateway provider Shift4 Corporation and RICS Software, a cloud-based retail management system provider, today announced the general availability of their joint EMV-certified solution for retailers.
- Layered payment security: EMV helps prevent instances of card-present fraud at physical points of sale. With Shift4’s DOLLARS ON THE NET and RICS POS, retailers can process EMV payments while adding the layered security of point-to-point encryption (P2PE) and tokenization. This keeps sensitive cardholder data out of the merchant environment, greatly reducing their breach profile and PCI scope — and protecting their customers’ payment data from hackers.
- Twelve supported devices: Shift4 currently supports a dozen EMV-capable terminals by Ingenico Group and Verifone, with options for USB, serial, Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. This allows any retailer to easily implement EMV across their business or brand, whether they have 10 stores or 1,000.
- Bank and processor neutrality: Shift4 is currently certified for EMV with eight major processors in the U.S. and Canada — with more on the way — making it easy for merchants to adopt EMV without changing their financial relationships. This also gives retailers the freedom to negotiate the best payment processing rates and make a switch if needed.
Jason Becker, CEO, RICS Software, said:
“Providing EMV-capable solutions for our clients was and still is a top priority for our business. We’re grateful to have a reliable partner like Shift4 to help our clients navigate new EMV requirements and expectations. Together, we’ve helped our retailers avoid suffering from the shift in liability and the costly consequence of not accepting EMV.”
Dave Oder, CEO, Shift4, said:
“Many retailers have been pressured into EMV implementations that don’t take their daily operations into account and do nothing to prevent breaches. Shift4 is proud to partner with RICS Software to offer EMV that works today. With this integration, retailers get EMV along with the layered security of our point-to-point encryption and tokenization solutions to keep sensitive card data out of their payment processing environment.”
