Shift4’s Data Center Expansion Means Even Faster Processing
We are in the process of adding an additional data center to further enhance our processing reliability, redundancy, and speed. As our merchant customer base continues to grow, we need to expand to accommodate the increased number of transactions. With this expansion, we saw an opportunity to improve the system in place to cool and maintain the ecosystem of our DOLLARS ON THE NET® data servers. So, we’re building our new data center inside the sophisticated Switch hosting facility – the most reliable technology ecosystem in the world.
Why Switch? Switch provides the most advanced cooling system for data servers, fastest Internet connection, and 100% uninterrupted uptime for more than 500 clients. Their client list includes Google, eBay, and several government agencies. Switch runs such an impressive operation, that when we were invited to tour the facility we had two armed guards accompany us the entire time. Talk about security!
What does the expansion of our data centers mean for you?
Right now we’re just giving you a heads-up on what’s to come. But before we bring the new data center live in the third quarter of this year, you will need to make an adjustment to the IP restrictions in your Internet settings for DOLLARS ON THE NET. Over the following months we will be sending out specific information on what you need to do to make sure you stay connected. If you do not make the required updates to your IP address access, you may experience potential interruptions in payment processing abilities.
At this time, please ensure the appropriate contact to make these adjustments for your business (your IT guy) is on our mailing list so they will receive upcoming information on what you need to do. If they’re not on the list, click here to add them.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call Shift4 Support at 702.597.2480 (option 2) or email [email protected].
