Shift4 Now Supports Apple Pay
We told you last month that adding support for Apple Pay™ was going to be quick and easy, and it was. We’re happy to announce that Shift4 now supports Apple Pay contactless (NFC) payments. In fact, a few of our customers have already starting processing Apple Pay transactions.
No additional development is required for you to start accepting this new payment method – as long as you meet these three important criteria:
- You are currently using a supported NFC-enabled payment terminal.
(A full list of Shift4-supported devices can be found on our website – just look for options with a green “Yes” next to the Contactless/NFC feature.)
- Your terminal devices are controlled by Shift4’s Universal Transaction Gateway® (UTG®).
Don’t worry, almost all of our merchant customers who have NFC devices are set up this way.
- Your processor has certified Shift4 to process NFC transactions.
If your processor doesn’t want to certify with us for NFC, but supporting Apple Pay is important to you and your customers, the beauty of Shift4’s 100% neutrality is that you can always change to one of the several processors that already have this certification in place.
