Shift4 Mints 10 More CISSPs

In a globally connected world, businesses of every size need to think not just about their compliance with PCI, but also about how to combat the persistent threat of skilled cybercriminals beyond the scope required by compliance. We hope you know that the Shift4 family is always prepared with the most innovative and comprehensive security for payment card data across your enterprise.
With that said, we are happy to reaffirm our commitment to providing you with the most stringent data protection throughout the payment process with CISSP® certification for 10 more Shift4 employees!

What Is CISSP?
Issued by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, more commonly known as (ISC), the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential is an information security qualification that is recognized globally for requiring mastery of ten domains: access control; telecommunications and network security; information security governance and risk management; software development security; cryptography; security architecture and design; operations security; business continuity and disaster recovery planning; legal, regulations, investigations and compliance; and physical (environmental) security.

Who Is Being Certified?
Typically, the CISSP certification is reserved for senior IT and Information Security leadership, but we are thrilled that our company-wide dedication to providing the highest level of security is well represented by the number of employees from the Director-level down earning CISSP.

Four employees are now joining Stephen Ames, Senior Director, Security Compliance, as full-fledged CISSPs:

  • Chris Mech – Director of Data Center Security Operations
  • Mark Dunaisky – Director, Project Management
  • Jeff Baran – Information Security Analyst
  • Dan Hoolmaa – Director of Information Technology

Also, six more employees have already passed their examinations and are just waiting for their paperwork to roll in during the coming weeks:

  • Aaron Avila – Senior Network Administrator/Architect
  • Mat Martz – Technical Relationship Manager
  • Cameron Marshall – Software Release Manager
  • Mike Baker – Information Security Analyst
  • Robert Sheppard – Systems Administrator II
  • Ryan Parker – Systems Administrator I

What Does This Mean for You, Our Merchants?
Long story short, having 11 CISSP-certified employees on the Shift4 staff further expands the expertise that we already provide to you in securing payment data solutions that suit your needs as a merchant – no matter your business size or industry.

“Shift4 is proud of our employees’ commitment to providing top-tier security for our merchants by earning the reputable CISSP credential,” said Shift4 CEO Dave Oder. “This type of dedication is a hallmark of Shift4’s ongoing commitment to providing our merchants with payment data security that is leaps and bounds above what is currently provided by many in the industry.”
