New Options in the UTG and DOLLARS ON THE NET
We’ve added some useful new options to the UTG and DOLLARS ON THE NET. Here’s what’s new:
With this UTG update, merchants processing directly to American Express (AMEX) will be able to more accurately and securely verify AMEX cardholders using online PIN verification (if supported by the card) instead of relying solely on a signature.
We’ve also added the ability for POS vendors to provide you with a “disable EMV” option for individual transactions. If implemented, this feature will allow the processing of specialized payment cards via a different merchant ID/account (MID) other than the primary one for which your primary EMV payment terminals are configured. For example, if you process high risk transactions for part of your business via a separate MID, you can use this option to process these payments on any of your terminals instead of requiring designated terminals.
In DOLLARS ON THE NET, if you can view unmasked card numbers, you may have noticed that we are now suggesting that you enable multifactor authentication (MFA) to increase login security. Although this is an option right now, we will soon be requiring MFA for all users that have the ability to view unmasked card numbers. So, we encourage you to enable MFA sooner rather than later! You can use Shift4’s own veri4 iOS app, or Google’s Authenticator.
