VeriFone 5000

Change the settings of the VeriFone 5000 by performing these steps:

1.   Reset the VeriFone 5000 by unplugging and then plugging in the power cord again.

2.   Change the line speed (baud rate) by using the F1 and F3 arrow buttons to scroll through the options. The line speed options are: (1) 19200 (2) 9600 (3) 4800 (4) 2400.

3.   Change the parity by using the F1 and F3 arrow buttons to scroll through the options.

The port setting options are: (1) 8 B No PARITY (2) 7 B Even PARITY.

4.   Press the F2 OK button when finished.

NOTE The Tip 1 option prompts the customer to enter a tip amount manually; the Tip 2 option allows the customer to choose between a preset tip amount or a manually-entered tip amount.
