VeriFone 1000
Determine the baud rate for the VeriFone 1000 PIN pad device by performing the following steps:
1. Reset the VeriFone 1000 by unplugging and then plugging in the power cord again.
The Welcome screen will appear.
2. Hold down the CLEAR button and press 2.
3. Enter 844747746 when prompted for the password.
4. Press ENTER.
5. Watch the scrolling message for the number to press to reach the Baud Rate menu.
6. Press the appropriate number for the Baud Rate menu.
7. Enter the desired baud rate as listed below:
Enter 1 for 1200.
Enter 2 for 2400.
Enter 3 for 4800.
Enter 4 for 9600 (recommended setting).
The baud rate is now set. Verify that the baud rate entered in the UTG Stub or UTG matches the baud rate selected on the VeriFone 1000 device.
